Price variation limits are used in practice on all stock exchanges in the world to protect investors against unreasonable price volatility during trading sessions. Static limits (also known as static thresholds) are in use from the beginning of the WSE activities. On the 24 March, 2006 a new additional protection (dynamic limits) was introduced. Dynamic limits create narrower than static limits permissible price variations and safety of trading is considerably improved.
