2016 Polish Capital Market Leader Awards

PRESS RELEASE

  • The 2016 Stock Market Review Gala has been held at the head office of the Warsaw Stock Exchange
  • 30 awards were presented at the Gala to issuers, Exchange Members and Authorised Advisers who achieved the best results and contributed to the development of the Polish capital market in 2016

The Gala was attended by representatives of the most important capital market institutions: issuers, brokerage houses, banks, investment firms, industry organisations and associations. The guests of honour of the event included Witold Słowik – Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Economic Development, and Teresa Czerwińska - Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The awards were presented in the following categories:

GPW awards on the Main Market in equities:

  • mBank S.A. for arranging the biggest total value of IPOs in 2016.
  • Celon Pharma S.A. for the biggest value of an IPO in 2016.
  • Trigon Dom Maklerski S.A. for the biggest number of companies introduced to the Main Market in equities in 2016.
  • Alior Bank S.A. for the biggest value of an SPO in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski Banku Handlowego S.A. for the biggest share in trading in equities (excluding market maker transactions) on the Main Market in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska for the biggest share of a local market maker in trading in equities on the Main Market in 2016.

GPW awards on NewConnect:

  • Tower Investment S.A. - for the biggest IPO on NewConnect in 2016.
  • mBank S.A. - for the biggest share in EOB trading in equities (excluding market maker transactions) on NewConnect in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski BDM S.A. – for the biggest share of a market maker in EOB trading in equities on NewConnect in 2016.

GPW awards on Catalyst:

  • Orlen Capital AB - for the biggest offering on Catalyst in 2016.
  • mBank S.A. - for the biggest share in EOB trading in non-Treasury bonds (excluding market maker transactions) on all Catalyst markets in 2016 and for the biggest issue of non-Treasury debt introduced to Catalyst in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego S.A. - for the biggest share of a market maker in EOB trading in non-Treasury bonds on Catalyst in 2016.

GPW awards on the derivatives market:

  • Erste Securities Polska S.A. - for the biggest share in the volume of trade in index futures excluding market maker transactions in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski Noble Securities S.A. - for the biggest share of a market maker in the volume of trade in index futures in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska S.A. - for the biggest share in the volume of trade in single-stock futures in 2016.
  • Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. - for the biggest share in the volume of trade in index options excluding market maker transactions in 2016.
  • Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego S.A. - for the biggest share of a market maker in the volume of trade in index options in 2016.

GPW awards for information distributors:

  • Polska Agencja Prasowa - for the first distributor of exchange information since 1996.
  • mBank S.A. - for the biggest number and value of orders for information products containing GPW and BondSpot processed data.

GPW award for structured products:

  • Raiffeisen CentroBank and ING Bank N.V. - for a contribution to the development of GPW’s structured products market.

Group awards:

  • Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska S.A. - for high quality of the reporting of trades to KDPW_TR in 2016.
  • PKO Bank Polski S.A. – first award for the biggest value of OTC trade cleared in KDPW_CCP in 2016.
  • ING Bank Śląski S.A. - second award for the biggest value of OTC trade cleared in KDPW_CCP in 2016.
  • BNP Paribas Securities Services - for the development and offering of the securities netting service in line with the best market practice.
  • Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. - for the first operator of an account for a global member of KDPW in the history of the market.

Treasury BondSpot Poland awards:

  • Barclays Bank PLC - leader of the Treasury BondSpot Poland cash transactions market in 2016.
  • ING Bank Śląski S.A. - leader of the Treasury BondSpot Poland conditional transactions market in 2016Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. - market making leader on Treasury BondSpot Poland in 2016 and for supporting Treasury BondSpot Poland market development in 2016.

The 2016 Stock Exchange Review Gala was organised by the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The Gala Partners were KDPW S.A., KDPW_CCP S.A. and BondSpot S.A.
