Energa In Action! – Individual Investor Club
PRESS RELEASE
The Energa Group will soon launch a loyalty programme for retail investors. The first steps have been made in Karpacz.
Energa In Action! – the Energa Group’s programme for retail investors – will launch in September 2019. It will be open to all individuals eligible under the rules: holders (or co-holders) of at least 500 Energa SA shares for at least six months, deposited in an investment account with Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego. In exchange, programme participants will have access to a regularly extended range of attractive benefits.
With its new programme, Energa joins other major players on the Polish and international markets engaged in similar initiatives. Energa’s programme is the first broad and comprehensive project of this kind implemented by an energy company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, targeting directly retail investors.
“Retail investors are an important group of our shareholders. We always appreciate their contribution to our position on the exchange. The programme dedicated to retail investors acknowledges their long-time investment in our shares. It shows that we are a mature issuer who boldly undertakes new ventures. In the Energy In Action! programme, we work with experienced partners whose expertise and competences are mutually complementary,” said Aleksander Korsak, Energa SA Investor Relations Director.
The launch of Energa In Action! this autumn was announced at the WallStreet 23 event in Karpacz. The memorandum of understanding concerning the programme was signed by four partners: Energa, the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego, and the Individual Investors Association (SII).
“The Warsaw Stock Exchange supports initiatives of issuers aiming to improve and enhance investor relations. Loyalty programmes are an IR tool used successfully on developed markets. Such initiatives benefit all market participants: retail investors get additional benefits while companies get stable long-term shareholders. I think that other issuers, including companies and local governments, should consider similar programmes,” said Marek Dietl, President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
“The position of a market leader enjoyed by Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego is owed among others to the way we address our clients’ expectations. Investors’ expectations are rising both with regard to our business and the companies they invest in. Energa’s loyalty programme is a great tool to mobilise and educate investors. We know that investors do appreciate such initiatives. All the programme activities are a perfect match for the business of Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego: they improve the understanding of the capital market among the general public, encourage individuals to actively manage their assets, and bring us closer to investors. Informed investing on the capital market is a key objective of our brokerage house as well as all partners of this initiative. In our opinion, similar programmes should be offered more broadly on our market. We are happy to be a partner to yet another programme targeting a broad group of our clients – retail investors,” said Filip Paszke, Director of Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego.
A press conference presented some of the benefits to be offered to programme participants by the programme organisers and partners. These include among others temporary waivers of management fees for new clients holding investment accounts with Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego, discounts on photovoltaic installations, and permanent discounts on shopping at Energa Obrót’s online store.
“The Energa Group is proud to invest in the development of Polish renewable energy sources and boasts a high share of RES in its generation mix. To invest in Energa shares is to participate in environmental improvements. We appreciate the contribution of our retail investors and we hope to jointly promote the generation of energy from renewable energy sources. Energa In Action! programme participants will enjoy significant discounts on our offer of photovoltaic panels for individual clients. They will see their electricity bills shrink while helping the Polish natural environment,” said Dariusz Chrzanowski, Vice-President of Energa Obrót, who signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of Energa SA.
Benefits will be available in a broad range of formats. The full catalogue of benefits will be published in September.
The other programme pillar is education. Participants will gain access to professional training materials from the Individual Investors Association concerning the equity segment of energy companies. Investors can also participate in research events dedicated to investing in energy companies, organised jointly by the programme partners.
“Education focused on investing in listed companies, including the energy industry, is key because it is the foundation of a rational approach to any activity on the exchange. Experience clearly shows that if you know how to assess the company you invest in and its environment, you stand a much better chance to generate superior returns. This is why we have for the past 20 years steadily promoted an informed and fact-based approach to investment decisions based on the foundations built by education. The Energa In Action! programme is a great fit for our initiatives,” said Jarosław Dominiak, President of the Individual Investors Association.
Registration for the Energa In Action! programme opens in September at Dom Maklerski PKO Banku Polskiego.
