Czech WOOD & Company Financial Services a.s. has signed a Co-operation Agreement under WSE IPO Partner with Warsaw Stock Exchange. The objective of Agreement is to attract foreign companies to the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Since June 2005 WOOD & Company Financial Services a.s. has been a WSE member. It was the first foreign brokerage house from CEE region that launched its trading activities at WSE. WOOD was also an adviser to the Czech power concern CEZ – the largest company in CEE region that has been listed at WSE since October 2006.
At the end of 2006 the Czech brokerage house was a member of the stock exchanges in Prague, Warsaw, Budapest, Vienna and Frankfurt. Shortly WOOD & Company plans to apply for a membership in stock exchanges in Romania, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
The WSE IPO Partner programme launched in the autumn 2006 aims at supporting the acquisition and promotional activities of WSE in foreign markets through a network of WSE partners, viz. foreign brokerage houses. WSE signs agreements with the entities running brokerage activities or rendering investment services whose major task is to attract directly and indirectly business entities domiciled outside Poland.
Under the agreement the partner is granted a special logo that it may use during the acquisition activities and also a right to place in its letters and documents information about being an authorised partners of WSE.
The first company that signed a WSE IPO Partner agreement with WSE was a Ukrainian brokerage house E-Volution Capital domiciled in Kiev. Consecutive WSE IPO Partners included: Altera Finance and Sokrat Capital from Ukraine, followed by Suprema Securities and Hansabank from Estonia running their operations in the Baltic States and Russia.
