GPW Celebrates Its Anniversary and Awards Leaders

2025-04-17 13:32:40

The Warsaw Stock Exchange has once again awarded capital market leaders at the Year on the Exchange 2024 Gala. The event brought together many representatives of the Polish capital market. It was an opportunity not only to award those who set the directions of the market’s development in the past year but also to celebrate together another anniversary of GPW.

The past months have been very good for the Polish capital market. Since the beginning of 2024, the GPW indices have gained more than 20 percent. The WIG was only half a percent short of crossing the symbolic 100,000-point mark in March 2025, but even so the Warsaw Stock Exchange is among the world’s performance leaders year to date. This is no coincidence; it is the result of the work of investors, companies, advisers and financial institutions, many of whom were present at the Gala.

The Year on the Exchange Gala is more than just an award ceremony: it is a meeting of the community that shapes the future of the Polish capital market. Every year, the event attracts representatives of brokerage firms, issuers and partners of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, providing an opportunity to draw conclusions, hold discussions, and look together into the future.

The development of the capital market has finally become one of the economic priorities, not only in Poland but also in the entire European Union. I can clearly see that interest in our market is growing, and not just declaratively. New funds are emerging, global investors are returning, we are hearing more and more questions about Polish companies, our indices, stability and potential. This interest is no coincidence: it is the result of a good economic situation, political predictability and market maturity. We are in a good moment and we need to take advantage of it. Such windows open rarely but they can bring long-term benefits if we can act together,” said Tomasz Bardziłowski, President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The GPW awards are presented on the basis of hard data and objective criteria. They go to those who have made a real contribution to the development of the market in the past year, who have demonstrated their activity, achieved outstanding results and confirmed their position as reliable partners of the capital market.
