Investor Activity on GPW in May 2025
GPW Main Market equity turnover totalled PLN 48.2 billion in May 2025, up 46.4% year on year. Average daily GPW equity turnover increased to PLN 2.15 billion, up 31.0% year on year. The broad market index WIG gained 27.92% year to date.

Equity Market
May was yet another successful month on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. GPW Main Market equity turnover totalled PLN 48.2 billion, up 46.4% year on year. EOB equity turnover increased 37.5% year on year to PLN 45.2 billion. Average daily EOB equity turnover was PLN 2.15 billion, up 31.0% year on year. WIG closed May 2025 at 101,476.07 points, gaining 17.6% year on year.
NewConnect investors were very active in May as total equity turnover value increased to PLN 403.8 million, up 213.1% year on year. NewConnect EOB equity turnover value increased by 215.7% year on year to PLN 403.4 million.
GlobalConnect turnover remained high and hit PLN 13.2 million in May 2025 vs. PLN 0.9 million in May 2024.
Derivatives Market
Total derivatives turnover volume was 0.8 million instruments in May 2025, down 8.5% year on year. Index futures turnover dropped 7.5% year on year to 480,000 futures. Currency futures turnover decreased by 4.3% year on year to 154,900 futures. Single-stock futures turnover fell by 16.2% year on year to 121,000 futures.
Structured Product and ETF Market
Structured product turnover value dropped 1.4% year on year to PLN 201.8 million while total ETF and ETC turnover value increased by 185.6% year on year to PLN 237.1 million in May 2025.
Debt Market
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst reached PLN 135.8 billion at the end of May 2025 vs. PLN 112.9 billion at the end of May 2024. Catalyst EOB bond turnover increased by 16.9% year on year to PLN 602.3 million.
Total TBSP bond turnover value was PLN 109.3 billion in May 2025 vs. PLN 101.4 billion in May 2024, up by 7.8% year on year.
Capitalisation of GPW Listed Companies
The capitalisation of the 363 domestic companies listed on the GPW Main Market amounted to PLN 927.4 billion (EUR 218.2 billion) in May 2025. The total capitalisation of the 406 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market reached PLN 2,031.5 billion (EUR 477.9 billion).
New Listings
MAZOP Group S.A., which specialises in the production of e-commerce packaging, was newly listed on NewConnect in May 2025. Its IPO was worth PLN 535,000.
Two municipal bonds were newly listed on Catalyst by the Urban Municipality of Żory with an offering worth PLN 73.3 million and the Municipality of Biała Podlaska with an offering worth PLN 32.4 million.
