The fifth edition of Financial Education Days organised by the GPW Foundation and the Warsaw Stock Exchange was held on 22 October 2025. The event, which attracts an increasingly wider audience every year, brought together a record number of over 6,000 participants, both in person and online. The impressive turnout confirms that investing and personal finance management are gaining in importance, and that young Poles are increasingly seeking reliable knowledge about the capital market and an informed approach to finance.

On Financial Education Days, queues formed early in the morning outside the Centrum Giełdowe building on Książęca Street in Warsaw, and the GPW Trading Floor was filled to capacity. Almost 500 people participated in the on-site part of the event. Another 1,200 people participated remotely. Over 4,500 students and teachers from all over Poland took part in nationwide online lessons.

Financial Education Days attracted enormous interest, filling us with great pride as organisers. A record-high number of participants, both in person and online, expanded their knowledge in three thematic areas, from personal finance, through the basics of investing on GPW, to building savings for future retirement. The high interest proves that joint efforts to promote financial education are extremely important and make a significant contribution to building a more stable financial future for all of us,” said Alina Bączar, President of the GPW Foundation.

The event opened with an online lesson for schools, organised as part of the EduAkcja programme. The opening lecture was delivered by Dr Wiesław Rozłucki, the first President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, who explained the importance of the capital market for the economy and society.

The event was then officially opened on the GPW Trading Room with the participation of representatives of key financial market institutions. Together with the GPW Foundation, they inaugurated a day filled with inspiring meetings, practical knowledge, and discussions on responsible investing.

Participants, including young people and adults, took part with great interest in 34 educational sessions, including lectures, discussion panels, and workshops. The event programme was divided into three main thematic tracks: investing on the stock market, financial education for children and young people, and personal finance and retirement. There was a special offer for teachers of economics.

Speakers included representatives of GPW, PKO BP, BOŚ Brokerage House, BETA ETF, PFR Portal PPK, TFI PZU, Crédit Agricole, as well as academic experts and representatives of public institutions.

The substantive part of the event opened with a panel discussion entitled “You can afford to invest. Start where you are, with what you have!”, which presented the latest research results on the attitudes of retail investors conducted by the GPW Foundation and GPW. The discussion was moderated by Dr Katarzyna Sekścińska, Professor at the University of Warsaw. This was followed by a panel discussion on the synergies of the activities of 12 organisations participating in the National Centre for Economic Education (KCEE), focusing on the practical benefits for teachers, school principals, and students. The discussion was moderated by Alina Bączar, President of the GPW Foundation. The morning part of the programme closed with a panel discussion entitled “Quo Vadis, Polish consumer?”, preceded by a presentation of the Think! Foundation’s long-term research on changes in the financial attitudes and behaviours of Poles.

The GPW Foundation and the Warsaw Stock Exchange consistently pursue their educational mission by supporting the development of financial and investment skills of various social groups, from students and teachers to retail investors. Financial Education Days is one of the key events and demonstrates the importance of universal and equal access to financial knowledge.

We believe that raising economic awareness should start at an early age. Early financial education lays the foundations for a responsible approach to money, develops the ability to plan, save, and make informed financial decisions,” said Robert Stankiewicz, GPW Director of Communications and Marketing.

Financial Education Days were held as part of the World Investor Week, a global campaign coordinated in Poland by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (UKNF). The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Education and the Ministry of Finance, as well as the Financial Education Council.
