Three New ETFs and Four NYSE and Nasdaq Listed Companies Join GlobalConnect
The first new foreign instruments this year have been newly listed on GlobalConnect, a market operated by the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The offering has expanded to include three ETFs and four companies listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq exchanges in New York, giving investors access to global markets in Polish zlotys. Santander Bank Polska is the market maker for the new instruments.
The new ETFs include instruments that give exposure to the global silver mining market, the Japanese stock market, and the broad MSCI World Index which covers companies from around the world. The ETFs include: Global X Silver Miners UCITS ETF, iShares Core MSCI Japan IMI UCITS ETF, and iShares Core MSCI World UCITS ETF. The ETFs address key market trends and enable portfolio diversification in a simple and transparent manner.
Furthermore, four new companies from the pharmaceutical, technology, and energy sectors have joined GlobalConnect: Eli Lilly & Co, Micron Technology, Exxon Mobil, and Oracle. All are listed on the NYSE and Nasdaq stock exchanges and are included in the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 indices. GlobalConnect’s offering now includes 48 stocks and six foreign ETFs.
“The expansion of GlobalConnect’s offering with new companies and ETFs is a key direction of our efforts. We want the platform to be an attractive bridge connecting Polish investors with foreign markets and responding to the growing interest in assets that are gaining popularity globally. The steady expansion of the offering allows us to provide even broader investment opportunities and strengthens the role of GPW as the first choice for Polish investors’ portfolios,” said Michał Kobza, Member of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The newly listed ETFs comply with the UCITS Directive, in force in the European Union since 2002, which ensures a high level of transparency and investment security. Among other things, UCITS regulations limit the risk of asset concentration and require assets to be held by an independent depositary.
The GlobalConnect market, in operation since 2022, gives investors access to foreign shares and ETFs listed in Polish zlotys. The goal is to facilitate investment in global assets through transparent trading rules and sufficient liquidity, supporting portfolio diversification and the integration of the Polish capital market with international markets.
