Investor Activity on GPW in July 2026

In July 2026, GPW Main Market equity turnover reached PLN 57.6 billion, up 43.8% year on year, marking the second-highest monthly turnover value in the history of the market. Average daily EOB equity turnover stood at PLN 2.51 billion. At the end of the month, the WIG20 established a new all-time closing high of 3,920.26 points. Since the beginning of the year, the index of the 20 largest companies has gained 23.12%.

Equity Market

High activity levels continued on the equity market in July. Total GPW Main Market equity turnover increased by 41.8% year on year to PLN 58.1 billion. EOB equity turnover rose by 43.8% year on year to PLN 57.6 billion, representing the second-highest monthly turnover value in the market's history.

Average daily EOB equity turnover reached PLN 2.51 billion, up 43.8% year on year. July also brought strong gains across Warsaw Stock Exchange benchmark indices. The WIG index closed the month at 147,400.90 points, up 36.6% year on year. On 31 July, the WIG20 reached a new all-time closing high of 3,920.26 points, its highest level in nearly 19 years. Year to date, the index has gained 23.12%.

NewConnect total equity turnover reached PLN 178.7 million in July 2026, down 18.6% year on year. NewConnect EOB equity turnover value decreased by 19.4% year on year to PLN 176.9 million.

GlobalConnect equity turnover stood at PLN 22.9 million in July 2026 compared to PLN 15.6 million in July 2025.

Structured Product and ETF Market

Investor interest in ETFs and ETCs remained exceptionally strong in July. Total ETF, ETN and ETC turnover value increased by 165.5% year on year to PLN 529.3 million. The results confirm that ETFs, ETNs and ETCs remain an increasingly important segment of the GPW market.

Structured product turnover value increased by 12.6% year on year to PLN 272.0 million.

Derivatives Market

Total derivatives turnover volume reached 0.8 million instruments in July 2026, up 22.4% year on year. The strongest growth was recorded in single-stock futures, where turnover volume increased by 97.6% year on year to 196,700 futures. Turnover in index futures rose by 30.1% year on year to 502,000 futures, while currency futures turnover declined by 44.7% year on year to 83,400 futures.

Debt Market                                                      

The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst stood at PLN 175.7 billion at the end of July 2026, compared to PLN 142.4 billion a year earlier.

Catalyst EOB bond turnover value decreased by 57.5% year on year to PLN 737.6 million.

Total Treasury BondSpot Poland bond turnover value reached PLN 207.8 billion in July 2026, up 52.8% year on year compared to PLN 136.0 billion in July 2025.

New Listings

Three companies joined the GPW Main Market in July. Adatex, a residential developer focused primarily on projects in Silesia and the Zagłębie region, and NWAI Dom Maklerski, a brokerage house providing capital market services and supporting companies in raising financing, transferred their listings from NewConnect to the Main Market.

After an eight-year absence, Robyg, one of Poland's largest residential developers, also returned to the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The company develops residential projects in Warsaw, the Tri-City area, Wrocław, Poznań and Łódź, among other locations.

July also saw a new bond listing on Catalyst. SGI Finance, a company belonging to the Warsaw-based SGI development group, introduced bonds with a total value of PLN 60 million to trading in the GPW Alternative Trading System. The issue comprised 60,000 bonds with a nominal value of PLN 1,000 each and was subscribed by 120 investors.

Capitalisation of GPW Listed Companies

The total capitalisation of all 403 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market reached PLN 2.92 trillion at the end of July 2026.

Polish Power Exchange

The total volume of transactions in electricity on TGE reached 13.9 TWh in July 2026, up 59.3% year on year.

The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 15.6% year on year to 4.7 TWh, while the volume of forward transactions rose by 97.8% year on year to 9.2 TWh.

The gas market recorded another month of declining volumes. Total gas turnover amounted to 8.4 TWh, down 61.9% year on year.

The volume of spot transactions in gas increased by 55.5% year on year to 2.0 TWh, while the volume of forward transactions declined by 69.2% year on year to 6.4 TWh.

Spot turnover in property rights in certificates of origin other than property rights in energy efficiency certificates ("white certificates") amounted to 0.9 TWh in July 2026, down 15.9% year on year.

Turnover in property rights in energy efficiency certificates ("white certificates") increased by 96.3% year on year to 10.1 ktoe.

Turnover in Guarantees of Origin for electricity generated from renewable energy sources reached 4.0 TWh in July 2026, down 12.1% year on year.
