GPW Benchmark Launches New NCFIndex
On Monday, 7 September 2026, GPW Benchmark will commence the publication of the new NCFIndex, designed to reflect market conditions in the segment of the most developed and actively traded companies listed on NewConnect. The index has been developed for investors and market participants seeking to track changes in the value of companies that meet specific quality and liquidity criteria.
NCFIndex includes all companies listed on the NewConnect market that have been classified in the NC Focus segment and simultaneously meet additional criteria relating to free-float shares and their market value. The index portfolio consists of companies whose free-float exceeds 10%, whose free-float market capitalization is at least PLN 1 million, and for which no bankruptcy proceedings have been initiated. The NC Focus segment comprises companies meeting specific requirements regarding, among other factors, market capitalization, financial standing, trading history, and compliance with disclosure obligations.
“The launch of the new index marks another step in the development of the NewConnect market, aimed at enhancing its transparency and attractiveness to investors. NCFIndex brings together companies that meet specific quality and liquidity criteria, providing investors with a clear view of the most mature segment of the NewConnect market. We believe that greater transparency and improved visibility of high-performing issuers will support the market’s continued development and help build confidence among retail investors. It is also important for us to encourage other NewConnect-listed companies to meet the more stringent quantitative and qualitative requirements that must be satisfied in order to be included in this index,” said Michał Kobza, Member of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW).
NCFIndex is a total return index, meaning that its calculation takes into account not only changes in the prices of the constituent shares, but also income from dividends and subscription rights. As a result, the index provides a more comprehensive representation of the return achieved by an investor holding a portfolio corresponding to its composition.
The index methodology has been developed to ensure a transparent and reliable representation of the value changes of companies meeting the index eligibility criteria. The composition of the portfolio is reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes within the NC Focus segment and the continued fulfillment of index participation requirements by the issuers.
The base value of the index is 1,000 points, and the base date is October 17, 2016. Historical index values from the base date are available on the GPW Benchmark website from the date of commencement of publication.
NCFIndex values will be published every 5 minutes on trading days and distributed through market data vendors and the GPW Benchmark website.
