50 ETFs, ETCs and ETNs on WSE!
29-10-2026 18:38On 29 October, the number of ETFs, ETCs and ETNs listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange will reach 50. As recently as August 2025, there were only 13 such instruments, meaning that the range of products has expanded almost fourfold in just over a year. The 50th instrument will be the YieldMax® Big Tech Option Income UCITS ETF, the first ETF on GPW to employ a strategy based on options on shares of technology companies listed on the US market. This means that, in the year of its 35th anniversary, GPW will achieve its target of 50 ETPs, originally set for the end of 2026, ahead of schedule.
The development of the ETF, ETC and ETN segment on the Warsaw Stock Exchange over the past several months has involved not only an increase in the number of listed instruments, but above all a broadening of the available asset classes and investment strategies.
As recently as August last year, investors had access to 13 instruments in this category. In the following months, products with new characteristics were introduced on GPW. These included Beta ETF Dywidenda Plus, which provides quarterly income distributions, followed by the first thematic ETF on GPW offering exposure to the advanced defence technology sector. The range was also expanded to include instruments linked to bonds, commodities and crypto-assets. As a result, a segment that had previously focused primarily on tracking equity indices now covers a much broader spectrum of asset classes and strategies.
In the year of its 35th anniversary, GPW set a target of reaching 35 ETF, ETC and ETN products. Once that milestone had been achieved, the next objective was to reach 50 instruments by the end of 2026. Following the second quarter of this year, 42 such products were listed on GPW, rising to 46 after the third quarter. The symbolic milestone of 50 instruments will be reached on 29 October, two months ahead of schedule.
“50 ETFs, ETCs and ETNs on the Warsaw trading floor are a clear sign of the changes taking place in the Polish capital market. ETFs have firmly established their place on GPW, while investors are gaining access to an increasingly broad range of products. The objective was clear: 50 instruments by the end of 2026. We have achieved it ahead of schedule, but our ambitions do not end here,” said Michał Kobza, Member of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The 50th product will be the YieldMax® Big Tech Option Income UCITS ETF (YMAG). It is an actively managed UCITS ETF whose strategy seeks to generate current income and capital appreciation through exposure to selected technology companies. A distinguishing feature of the fund is its use of a covered call strategy, which involves selling call options on shares. Premiums received from writing options provide a source of income, which the fund distributes to investors on a monthly basis. At the same time, the strategy may limit investors’ participation in increases in the prices of the shares held in the portfolio. The fund’s total expense ratio (TER) is 0.99% per annum.
“Bringing the first options-based ETF to the Warsaw Stock Exchange is an important step in widening the investment choices available to Polish investors. With this ETF, investors can now access an options income strategy through their domestic exchange, as demand for these strategies grows across Europe. This listing also marks the exchange’s 50th ETF/ETP, a milestone we are proud to help deliver. With 14 products now listed, HANetf accounts for more than a quarter of the exchange’s ETP range, demonstrating our commitment to the Polish market and our role in supporting its development. Poland is an increasingly important market for HANetf, and we look forward to bringing more of our range to Polish investors.”, said Hector McNeil, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of HANetf.
The fund was launched on 25 March 2025 and, two days later, began trading on Borsa Italiana, the London Stock Exchange and Xetra. SIX Swiss Exchange joined this group in April 2026. The fund currently has net assets of USD 75.9 million, while its net asset value per share (NAV) stands at USD 40.82.
On GPW, YMAG will be traded in Polish zloty, while its base currency will remain the US dollar. The fund does not hedge its currency exposure against the Polish zloty, meaning that the investment return may also be affected by movements in the USD/PLN exchange rate.
The expansion of the range of ETPs on the Warsaw Stock Exchange has been accompanied by growth in trading volumes. In recent months, monthly turnover in ETFs, ETCs and ETNs on GPW has exceeded PLN 500 million. In the third quarter of 2026, including funds listed on GlobalConnect, their total turnover reached PLN 1.66 billion. Reaching the milestone of 50 instruments therefore forms part of the broader development of the market for products listed on GPW.
“We are now looking forward to welcoming more issuers and more products. We would like to see more ETFs based on Polish equities on GPW, as well as solutions aligned with the objectives of OKI, giving investors access to both eligible domestic assets and international markets. This is one of the directions in which the market can continue to develop,” concluded Michał Kobza, Member of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
