Warsaw Stock Exchanges Takes to the Streets of Polish Cities with Project GPW 24/7
The Warsaw Stock Exchange in partnership with Screen Network has launched the project GPW 24/7 which presents exchange information on Digital Out of Home (DOOH) city screens. Market quotes and short educational content about the capital market are displayed in the largest Polish cities in order to reach the public. This state-of-the-art way of promoting knowledge about the exchange encourages people to take a closer interest in how the market works.
GPW takes market information and financial education from computer screens to large-format screens in urban spaces. GPW 24/7 is Poland’s first information network which tracks performance on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in real time, not just for investors but anyone waiting for a bus, crossing the street or stuck in traffic.
Quotations and charts of the WIG, WIG20, mWIG40, and sWIG80 indices are displayed on 58 DOOH (Digital Out of Home) screens in Gdynia, Katowice, Łódź, Poznań, Szczecin, Warsaw, and Wrocław every day between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The current market status is also presented, including the largest price gains and losses, and stocks with the highest turnover. In addition to current data, short educational content is also displayed in order to explain how the stock exchange works. As a result, GPW is present in the public space not only during the trading sessions but also after they close.
According to research conducted by the Warsaw Stock Exchange, as many as 70% of Poles admit that they do not have sufficient knowledge about the capital market. However, the exchange serves not only as a trading venue but above all as an economic barometer. Thanks to GPW 24/7, knowledge about capital markets is now available to everyone with no need to log in or get an app, and no entry barriers.
“The GPW 24/7 project is a new way of communicating with the public. We are bringing the Exchange into urban spaces to show that the capital market is closer than many people may think. Quotations displayed on DOOH screens are not only a source of information but also an invitation to the world of investment: dynamic, open, and accessible to anyone who wants to better understand the economy,” said Tomasz Bardziłowski, President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The new initiative is more than a technological innovation; it is also a tool for promoting knowledge about the capital market. The Exchange is moving beyond the trading floor to become part of the urban space and offer reliable information that can support Poles’ everyday financial decisions.
The GPW24/7 project has been developed in partnership with Screen Network, Poland’s biggest network of large-format DOOH screens. The partnership ensures wide coverage and a modern form of communication making GPW visible to millions of viewers every day.
