The Warsaw Stock Exchange has been actively pursuing the concept of turning Warsaw into a trading hub for equities issued by foreign companies, particularly those from Central and Eastern Europe. Those efforts resulted not only in foreign debuts on GPW but have stimulated increasing interest in the Polish market among foreign entities engaging in brokerage operations (pursuant to the legislation of their country of establishment) or in other financial and investment-related operations. Their role of providing sales and promotional support for GPW is now epitomised in the new partner programme, launched in mid-November 2006 under the name of WSE IPO Partner.
The programme provides tangible benefits for both GPW and its IPO Partners. The GPW obtains active support from local players on foreign markets who promote the Warsaw Stock Exchange and select companies interested in attracting capital through the GPW trading floor.
To join the program, the interested entity should sign the cooperation agreement with the Exchange and file an application for granting the WSE IPO Partner title. Granting the WSE IPO Partner title is confirmed by the appropriate certificate. An entity which cooperates with GPW under the WSE IPO Partner program may receive a special program logo which can be used in their canvassing activities. The entity may also refer in letters and documents to the WSE IPO Partner status.
The Warsaw Stock Exchange will support its Partners by providing any necessary consultation related to implementation of the cooperation agreement, ensuring availability of its promotional publications and offering the opportunity to participate in events organised by GPW with the aim of attracting companies interested in bringing their financial instruments to GPW-run markets.
